Case: Towards Reconciliation

Towards Reconciliation brought together well-known public figures to read aloud the final report of the Sámi Truth and Reconciliation Commission on the Main Stage of the Finnish National Theatre 4–6 December 2025. The three-day event was part of the *Kohti sovintoa* collaboration convened by the Baltic Circle festival in cooperation with the Sámi Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The festival invited arts professionals to explore what cultural reconciliation with the Sámi people means for Finnish cultural institutions.

On the first day of the event, numerous expert talks were presented, and parliamentary parties were challenged in a panel to commit to the proposals and recommendations made by the Commission. The program then continued with a collective public reading of the report, voiced by Sámi readers and well-known Finnish figures over the following event days.

Kohti sovintoa multi-camera production

Large-scale multi-camera production streamed live to Yle Areena

DC Events delivered a total of more than 15 hours of streaming as a multi-camera production using two operated cameras and four robotic cameras. A key challenge for the production was the tight schedule of the Main Stage, which required the streaming equipment to be cleared away for evening performances.

Readers also participated in real time via a two-way live connection from the Sámi Museum Siida in Inari.

The event was streamed live on Yle Areena, where it has already accumulated over 25,000 starts. In addition, excerpts from the recording are being used as part of the Sámi exhibition at the Helsinki City Museum.
